We want all our projects to be delivered as seamlessly as possible, from quotation to installation, and to do that, the work that goes on ‘behind the scenes’ is critical.
Have you got the right team in place for your next facades project?
With over seventy years’ combined experience, our qualified team has expertise within all aspects of cladding and facades. From timber to fibre cement and aluminium rainscreen cladding, from smaller rendering projects to large scale developments, we’ve seen it all. Our clients know they’re in safe hands and we’re proud to be able to afford them peace of mind, knowing every step of the process has been thoroughly considered and correctly executed.
We’d like to introduce you to a few members of our team…
Sam Hill, Estimator
Sam is often the first point of contact for a client; it’s his job to find out what the client’s requirements are and as much information about the project as possible. Having detail in the initial stages can save time and money as the project progresses, so we leave no stone unturned!
Sam explains: “We ask clients to send us details such as plans, elevations, detailed drawings, and specifications, as well as expected timings, delivery, storage, and access requirements. From that, we can begin researching materials, equipment, and labour costs. We will start to gather quotes from suppliers, and other sub-contractors if necessary.
“We assess the level of risk on a project, as well as analyse company data, exchange rates and prices using software packages which allows us to prepare the quotation for work.”
Dave Pankhurst, Commercial Manager
Dave’s role is predominantly as a Quantity Surveyor, managing all the costs for a project, from the initial calculations to the final figures.
“I produce the project documents, which might include a programme overview, costings breakdown, cashflows, material and labour allowances,” says Dave, “I help order the necessary materials and send Labour Orders, assist Site supervisors and the construction team with detailing and specifications.
“If there are variations to contract, I will price those, as well as assess labour payments and attend meetings on site when needed.”
Matthew East, Design Manager
Our Design Manager, Matthew, manages the design team and provides technical support to the bid process. He ensures that any drawings and designs are produced on time, and to a high quality, collaborating with clients to ensure that their requirements are met.
Matthew will review designs with health and safety in mind, staying up to date with changing legislation and best practice relating to design. Matthew’s technical expertise and experience within the industry means that for complex or unusual projects he can work with clients to develop designs that utilise innovative techniques.
Matt Green, Project Manager
Matt is responsible for developing and implementing project strategy and overseeing the delivery of the programme from beginning to end. “Programming is always a challenge,” comments Matt,” but through good time and resource management, experience, and open communication with stakeholders, we’re proud to deliver our projects safely and on time.”
Matt explains: “If a project looks like it could be heading off track, I will recommend and put in place corrective actions as required, working with management and design teams to ensure that we are able to meet the timings for each stage of the schedule.”
Terry Box, SHEQ Manager
Terry carries out on-site visits, working with the individual Project Managers to complete Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) for each project before it starts. In addition, Terry prepares bi-weekly health and safety reports.
Through setting safety standards such as regular inspections and monitoring right from the beginning of a project, as well as engaging and empowering the workforce through open dialogue and feedback, any risks are significantly minimised.
Hard work and attention to detail delivers results
We understand the importance of maintaining our good relationships with suppliers, which in turn benefits our clients, as we work well together to resolve challenges should they arise. Tharinda Rathnapala, Commercial Director at FC Architectural said:
“Eden Facades are very practical; they produce good workable solutions and can clearly explain what is needed, we understand each other’s expectations. Everyone in the office and on site is very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.”
Ian Quinton, Managing Director at RCM comments:” We’ve worked on a lot of projects of varying sizes, but for me, creating a good partnership is more important than the size of business. Paul and the team at Eden Facades are very supportive and we enjoy working alongside them, it’s very much about collaboration.”
Our team’s hard work is reflected in the successes seen on site, too. We were voted ‘Contractor of the Month’ by Berkeley Homes Central London for our work on the West End Gate site, and by Thomas Sinden for our work at the Charter Court project in Hemel Hempstead recently.
Paul Michaelson, Eden Facades Construction Director comments: “We know that having the right people on board is critically important to the success of every project we work on. Our whole team is committed to delivering a superior service for our clients – and doing what we say we will.”
