We are delighted to announce that we have been officially accredited by IFC Certification Ltd. (an independent UKAS-accredited provider of high-quality customer-focused third-party certification in support of fire safety and security) to install cavity fire barriers following an auditing process.

The critical role of fire cavity barriers in building fire safety
With increased public awareness, industry mindfulness, and regulatory recommendations, manufacturers and installers must now demonstrate the capability and traceability of their products and services more critically than ever.
Fire cavity barriers play a pivotal role in preventing the spread of fire and smoke through cavities in walls, floors, and ceilings in the case of a fire outbreak. Without these barriers, fires can travel unchecked through these cavities. Fire barriers help maintain a building’s structural integrity during a fire. By compartmentalising the fire, they prevent it from weakening large sections of the building at once, giving occupants more time to evacuate and firefighters more time to control the blaze.
Proper installation and adherence to regulations are vital to ensure these barriers function effectively in a fire.
The auditing process
To acquire the certification, an internal audit and site visits were carried out to ensure that the required standards are met. These involved quality control of paperwork and inspection of fire cavity barrier installations.
To ensure that ongoing standards are upheld, each project must be registered with the IFC and be subject to random inspections. This gives the client peace of mind that quality is being maintained and the confidence to rely on us to deliver the installation correctly.
